Alabama camping

Alabama is where wine travel and camping comes together. The best time of the year to visit the wine county is January, which also happens to be perfect for camping as well. All around Alabama, wineries welcome visitors and host wine trail events, during the season. For those who are looking for a budget holiday, the off season is the perfect time to visit, as the wineries offer a lot of discounts and offers to attract the crowds. The numbers of holiday makers are also less in number, which makes these wineries your own personal abode of nature and peace.

Many people, who go Alabama camping, still are unaware of Alabama’s wineries. Most people do not know about the state’s long history of grape production and wine making. The muscadine grape reigns supreme here, and Alabama winemakers, with their own ingenious, are coming up with an excellent array of wines. In addition to the wineries, you also have the mountainous terrain of north and central Alabama, which offers numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation. The mountains and valleys make these wineries perfect for an Alabama camping trip. Along with this, the grapes here enjoy a long growing season, which gives the Alabama wine industry an excellent opportunity to thrive as time goes on.

One of the best places to go to on the wine trail, while Alabama camping is Birmingham. This place is well connected by the Interstate, and the route takes you into a hilly and mountainous terrain that’s home to Alabama wineries. One of the very first wineries to visit is the Wills Creek Vineyards. It is a short distance off Interstate 59 exit 188, situated in the small town of Attala. Wills Creek specializes in muscadine wines, with an interesting twist, as some of them are dry while others are the more traditional sweet variety. Having enjoyed the day at the wine testing room, you can enjoy the evening and night camping out. With special arrangements made with some of the wineries, you can pitch your tent or bring you RV along. Make sure that you make prior arrangements before you arrive. Most of the wineries have their own arrangements for hosting the guests, but with special requests, you can make the wine trail visit in to an Alabama camping trip.

The Wills Creek winery is located in the midst of the Duck Valley Wildlife Preserve. The air is fresh and pure, and you can spend your time exploring the hiking trails through the orchards and mountains. A few miles south of Wills Creek, is White Oak Vineyards. This vineyard is set amidst a beautiful and tranquil farm, surrounded by rolling hills of the central Alabama. Here you can find an eclectic variety of wines, ranging from sweet to crisp. Do not miss the opportunity to taste the White Oak’s fruit wines, especially the Peach. It is a fun and easy sipper and brings home the real taste of Alabama. On the drier side, there’s Villard Blanc, which is an elegant white wine.

Clubbing the fun of wine trail adventure with Alabama camping, may be something that most people haven’t tried, but with little bit of imagination and sense of adventure, you can discover a whole new holiday experience, while Alabama camping.
