Arkansas is famous for its wonderful and fully-equipped campsites which are distributed throughout the state. Believe it or not – Arkansas has around 200 public campgrounds with approximately 9800 family campsites.
Thanks to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers who have contributed towards the development of various campsites at almost 19 sites. These campsites provide water sports, boating, wide park area for relaxation, etc. The campsites are well hygienic and suitable for family camping.
You can find Arkansas state parks distributed throughout the state at different locations. You can find almost 28 state parks with featured RV parks, and around 1700 campgrounds. These state parks have excellent scenic beauty, and also provide excellent camping facilities like hot-water showers.
Even the National Forests provide some campgrounds, but, which are not fully-equipped. As the campgrounds are lying within the forests, you might not be able to get all the facilities right out there. You may need to carry all essential camping articles for a comfortable camping. You can experience the scenic attractions and also enjoy camping in privacy.
Camping Norms
You are required to follow certain norms, rules, and regulations before occupying the campsites at Arkansas State Parks.
* Register yourselves at the park visitor center to occupy the campsite. The attendant will allot you the requested campsite based on the availability. He also provides you the camping rig, equipment and gear.
* To register, you need to be an adult, above 18 years.
* You are allowed for a 14-day stay within 1 month period.

You can enjoy the whole family camping along with your pets. But if you carry pets, you need to make your own arrangements for the pet care, and ensure that the pets do not cause disturbance to other campers at the park.
Camping Season & Facilities
The State Parks are open all throughout the year, but check out the websites to find if some parks observe a weekly holiday or seasonal holiday.
The campsites are equipped with the basic hike-in tents, and some campsites are equipped with modern accessories including hot showers, flush toilets, water and electric, and sewer hookups, picnic tables, grills, and lantern hangers.
