Camping First Aid Kit

When you go camping you have to be prepared about a lot of things because you will be spending your time in the wilderness. This is not a place with modern facilities here neither does it give you the kind of environment that you are generally used to living in. The entire settings and the environment is going to be different and learning to live under these circumstances requires you to develop life skills and survivals tactics. Even if you do camping in the most modern way, like RV camping, you still have to take precautions and know how to handle yourself in a place that is inhabited by wild animals and in which the climate and temperature is entirely different from what you have experienced so far.

Since camping requires that you spend time in the wilderness, you are prone to a lot of things in such a place. As a precaution it’s important to keep with you a First Aid Kit. Such a kit will be useful under different circumstance such as if you were to hurt yourself accidentally while doing some outdoors activities or if you suddenly develop a stomach ailment or have a sudden headache. If you were at home or office, you would immediately reach out to medication or a doctor for help, but in a camping spot, you cannot do this immediately. In such situations, your first source of help is a First Aid Kit.

In case of medical situations that are not mild, yet not so serious, nothing like help from a First Aid Kit, to solve the problem there itself or probably to stall it till you can get out of the site for more help.

Given the importance of first aid in treating mild to moderate problems, you have to put together an effective First Aid Kit. This may sound easy, but you have to really keep in mind a lot of things to put together a really good safety kit. It should have basic safety items and maybe certain specific items that might come in use when you camp. Let’s take a look at what’s needed here:

* Antiseptic Cream

* Inspect Repellent

* Burn Relief Lotion

* Medication for problems such as cold, upset stomach and headaches

* Water purifying tablets

* Small and Large Gauze Pads

* Large Compress Bandages

* Tweezers

* Cold Compress

* CPR Breathing Barrier

* Space Blanket

* Antiseptic Wipes

* ACE bandages

* Scissors

* First Aid tape

If you put together these items you have a comprehensive First Aid Kit with you. Such a kit can help you out if you got stuck with a thorn and also if you landed up with something more serious as well. Since you will be miles away from the nearest facility for medical help or even something like a pharmacy, you need to be prepared beforehand to face such a situation through a First Aid Kit. Be sure to mention this kit in your camping checklist, so that you make it a point to take it with you when camping.
