* Clear Creek State Park Campground – This state park is located in northern Jefferson County and it was established in 1968. It’s really best for tent camping because of the exquisite wilderness in which it is set. It has 53 campsites in all. Plenty of outdoors activities here such as hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, horseback riding, and mountain biking.

* Hearts Content Campground, Warren – This campground offers some of the most scenic vistas for campers to explore. It has 26 sites in all and offers opportunities for hiking, biking, and watching wildlife. Every site has a tent base, picnic table and fire ring. Pressurized water facility and vault toilets are also available. Campsites are allotted only on a first come, first serve basis.

* Black Moshannon State Park Campground – This campground is ideal for nature lovers because it covers an expansive 3,394 acres of landarea which include forests and wetlands. The most popular pace here is the Black Moshannon Bog Natural Area which can be accessed through trails. There are 80 campsites here with tent bases, fire rings and picnic tables. Recreational opportunities include biking, fishing and swimming.

* Ricketts Glen State Park Campground Camping – This campground covers an extensive 13,050 acres and is abundant with waterfalls. It has 22 beautiful natural waterfalls and adding to this scenic effect is the luscious wilderness and wildlife. It has 120 sites in all and facilities such as toilets and hot showers are available in the tent site and also in the trailer sites. Cabins here include dining area, living area, kitchen, showers and toilets.

* Fowlers Hollow Campground Camping – This campground is just right for amperes who are interested in hunting during their camping stay. It offers both tent and RV campsites. Facilities include playground, fishing, picnic area, and hiking trails.

* Blue Knob State Park Campground – This campground covers an extensive 4,874 acres of forested area. Campers here get to enjoy the serenity of the mountain environment. In all there are 45 tent and trailer sites. Facilities available to campers include water, dump stations, restrooms and a playground. Recreational opportunities available here include cross country skiing, backpacking, mountain climbing, horse riding and snowmobiling.
