Camping Recipes

Camping is a really an interesting and fun activity. The idea of staying for a couple of days in a campsite is actually exciting and even thrilling. You’ll be sleeping under a tent and cooking food over a campfire. Food cooked this way is really delicious and also very different from the food cooked at home and this is a feeling that most campers have.

Camping calls for special camping recipes. Here is a look at some interesting camping recipes that you can try out:

* Tomato Dish – This one is really tasty because it’s got cheese in it. Take a tomato and cut out the top part of it. Scoop out the insides (not too much) with a teaspoon. Put cheese, minced onions and paprika on the inside. Put the scooped tomato pulp inside this. Close with the top and lightly cook over the campfire. The cheese inside will melt to give a delicious taste. Serve with foil.

* Veggie Stew – This one has a whole list of vegetable mixed in it. Cut Potatoes, Tomatoes, Onions, Capsicums, and Garlic. Pour water to the level necessary for a stew. Put in the vegetables and then cook. Add salt and any spices. It’s tasty and healthy too.

* Omelet in a bread – This is yet another simple recipe, that you’ll enjoy doing. Heat a pan over the campfire with a small amount of oil. Beat two eggs, add minced onions to it and make omelet over the pan. Take two bread slices and slightly roast them in the same pan. Put the omelet, add ketchup or any other sauce that you find is interesting and serve.

* Hobo Dinner – This is a common dinner recipe.

You need Potatoes (4), Onions (1), Chuck (1lb), Water (Quarter Cup), Salt, Pepper. Peel and Cut Potatoes and Onions. Ground Chuck. Take a pan, add water and then the ground meat. Mix in Potatoes and Onions. Add the seasonings and stir. You’ll get a thick paste.

Separate the paste into equal amount servings. Put each into an aluminum foil and place this with the seam side up on a hot grill. Let it stay there for 40 minutes. Open and serve with Ketchup.

* Apple Mania - This one is a really yummy recipe and just the thing to make when you are camping close to Apple trees. You’ll need six Apples. Peel Apples. Cut them side-ways instead of slicing them. Spread them over a pan and add cinnamon and brown sugar. Cook in a Dutch oven for 45 minutes.

* Mixes – This can be had anytime you feel like snacking. Make the mix with granola cereal, raisins, cashews, and other nuts that will make it tasty. Add milk or honey for taste. Mixes are the best for a quick snack in the morning or evening.

Each of these recipes is interesting and taste delicious when you try them out. They take little time to do and are also quite nutritious. You don’t need a whole pack of food supplies to get going with them and they make for perfect cooking when you have a gang with you.
