Things to Know About Camp Chameleon
What are the hours of Camp
Chameleon?
Camp program runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Campers may be dropped
off between 8:30 and 9 in the morning, and picked up between 5 and 5:30 in
the afternoon.
How do campers know what to
bring to camp?
Campers will receive an information packet after they sign up for camp
or an information packet can be downloaded from our web site. There will
be a detailed equipment list included in this packet along with many more
camp details

Does my camper need to bring
a lunch each day?
Yes, campers should bring their own non-perishable lunch and beverage
each day. Light snacks, in the morning and afternoon, will be provided by
the camp.
Can my campers bring a friend?
Campers may attend with a friend if they would like. We do our best to
place two friends together if they are at the same grade level and sign up
for the same program and session at Camp Chameleon. Friends must each list
each other's names on the registration form and mail the two registrations
in the same envelope (or fax them at the same time).
What if a camper has never done some of the activities before?
Program at camp is based on the age and previous experience of the camper.
Campers will receive the necessary help and instruction to get started. Older
and more experienced campers have the opportunity to do things in a little
more depth and with a little more independence.
What is a Chameleon?
A Chameleon is a lizard which is famous for its ability to change
its color. Most chameleons come from Madagascar, a big island the east coast
of Africa. Most of the others live in mainland Africa.
How did Camp Chameleon get
its name?
Camp Chameleon, like a real chameleon, is constantly changing to meet
the needs and interests of the individual campers. At Camp Chameleon, girls
choose their area of interest for a part of the day each week. The remainder
of the day is occupied with activities designed by the group under the counselors'
leadership.
