Ready, Set, Wet

Swim every afternoon at Roberts Pool.  Perfect your strokes and play with friends during this recreational swim time.

Blast Off    
Session 1

Space Explorers!  Your trek will take you 2 days to the Chabot Space and Science Center.  You will be there most of the day participating in workshops and exploring the exhibits.  You will also tour the solar system in the planetarium and see a show in the mega dome theater.

Paw Prints     
Session 2

Hike the trails to adventure! Discover the plants and animals living around camp. Make your very own paw prints to take home. Special visit from the Zoomobile to learn about amazing adaptations animals make to survive.

Doll Design          
Session 2

Create your won doll, then design her a fashion wardrobe.  Learn basic sewing and design techniques.

Melody Makers   
Session 3       
Cost: $220

Create wind, rhythm and melodic instruments using natural materials.  Perform for your family and friends at the end of the week.

Science Sleuths

Become a camp detective!  Look for clues and perform exciting experiments to solve mysteries in camp.
   
Imagineers

Set the stage with costumes and props you create.  Play theater games and perform for your family and friends at the end of the week.

Sports Basics

Play fun games and activities as you practice basic sport skills such as throwing, catching, kicking, batting, volleying and striking. Games include “Musical Hoops,” “Sea Lion Toss, “ and “Major Leagues.”

Rhythm Moves

Explore hip-hop, jazz, and creative dance combined with martial arts with a team of adult and youth instructors from Destiny Arts Center.

Spend 2 hours each afternoon at Wildcat Canyon Ranch City Stables learning the parts of a horse, how to tack and groom, and western riding lessons in a ring.

Soar Away

Make kites to fly and to decorate your room.   Explore a variety of kites from various cultures.

Swim ‘n Sports

Explore different sports and games throughout the week. Swim every afternoon at Roberts Pool. Perfect your strokes and play with friends during this recreational swim time.

Space Trekkers

Cost: $295

Journey to the Chabot Space & Science Center two hours each day and learn the wonders of the sky. Learn about the stars and the solar system in Chabot’s planetarium.
        
Mystery Madness       
Session 4       
Cost: $220

Conduct scientific experiments using magic potions and special inks to solve camp mysteries.  Record your suspicions in your casebook as evidence mounts.

Jewelry Jamboree        
Session 5       
Cost: $220

A week full of art that you can wear!  You'll be using beads, macramé and wire to make bracelets, necklaces, and more.  Design you own box to hold your jewelry.

Dance Express       
Session 6       
Cost: $265

Express yourself through hip-hop, jazz, and creative dance. Learn Kajukenbo Kung-fu, a beautiful martial art that incorporates circular movements. This program is taught by a team of adult and youth instructors from Destiny Arts Center.
 

Programs for Girls Entering Grades 6-8

Saddle Up

Spend 2 hours each day at Oakland City Stables learning about horse health care, grooming, and saddling.  Develop your western riding skills in a ring.

Infinity and Beyond        
Session 3              
Cost: $295

Explore the technology currently being used and tested at various local labs and science center, including robotic, global positioning and aviation.  Attend workshops and meet women scientists at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, Chabot Space and Science Center, USS Hornet and More!

Sportster            
Session 4        
Cost: $285

Try a different sport each day. Take a golf lesson at the Tilden Golf Range, attempt to reach the top of the wall at the Berkeley Ironworks! Improve your skating techniques at a local rink. At camp, enjoy favorites such as sand volleyball, kickball, and badminton.
    
Animal Bonanza

Crazy about animals? Explore animal-related careers and meet people who work in the field. Learn about animals large and small. Take a special behind-the-scenes trip to the zoo.

Traventure

Each day is an adventure as you travel to different parks of the East Bay Regional Park District.  Activities include fishing at Lake Chabot, swimming and hiking at Lake Anza, and swimming at Lake Temescal.
 

Older Girl Leadership Programs

Cadette Program Aide Training   
Session 1

Discover your leadership potential! Participate in exciting art and nature activities as you develop leadership skills. Learn how to effectively present activities to younger girls. Gain the necessary training to earn the GSUSA Cadette Program Aide Pin.

Programs for Girls Entering Grades 7-12
Program Aides   
Session 1-6   
Cost: $35

If you have completed Program Aide Training through day camp (at Camp Chameleon or other Girl Scout day camps) or “Leap into Leadership” this special unit is designed for you. Each day you will explore various aspects of the camp depending on your interests. Assist the arts & crafts director, conduct exploration activities with the Nature Specialist, help in a unit, and/or lead songs, games and other activities with the campers. There will be time each day for you to do your own special unit activity. Please complete a separate registration form for each session.
