Camping is an activity for young and old alike, something that can families can partake in as a fun and wholly fulfilling pastime, and one of the best things about camping is the fact that there are so many potential areas to visit. Be it Yellowstone and Yosemite or a remote destination in the Canadian wilderness, there are a limitless number of possible destinations to choose from. But what if you want to venture into a location that is difficult to access by normal transportation methods? This can be an issue that many campers face when trying to plan their next vacation. Due to the nature of camping, many locations tend to be remote, meaning that getting to and from these locations can be difficult, especially on a restricted timeframe. For the camper who is looking to get to their destination faster than commercial travel can provide, traveling via a private jet may be the best option.

If you are planning a trip to a campground a few hours outside of your town, it is as simple as packing up your gear, getting into your vehicle and making the trip, but if the destination is somewhere more remote or exotic, getting there can be a major issue. If the campground is more than a few hours away, most campers would consider taking a commercial flight to the closest city, renting a vehicle and driving from there. The problem with this solution is that many of the best camping spots are in locations that are far from the few major hubs that are serviced by the major commercial airlines. Even with a long flight, the drive to the spot from the airport could be another several hours, something that could make the trip less enticing. Couple this with the fact that the airlines not only charge for baggage, but limit how much you can bring to a very small amount, and starting a camping trip with a commercial flight seems very unappealing.

The benefit of a charting a private jet is that not only can you plan the trip around your schedule, meaning you are not tied to the constantly shifting timetables of commercial airlines, but private jets can fly to smaller airports that are often-times located closer to your ultimate destination. These smaller, more remote airports are only accessible via private aircraft, and can get campers to the campground much more efficiently. Private aircraft also allow customers to bring more of their gear, meaning you will have to rent or purchase much less equipment and supplies. Many campers are specific about their gear, and having to purchase or rent sub-par equipment can be a major detraction.

The next time you are planning a major camping trip to a remote local, consider private jet charter as an alternative to traditional means of travel. Not only can it get you to where you want to go more efficiently, but it can also be a surprisingly affordable alternative to commercial travel, especially with a larger group and all the gear that goes with them.

Many avid campers are not only outdoorsmen, but also hikers, climbers, and hunters. With a hobby such as camping, there is room for crossover between all of these activities. Prepared campers can bring with them the tools and supplies to hunt, fish, climb or hike from their basecamp. If you are planning your next camping excursion, and want to add hunting as an activity to the trip, you should consider what type of rifle would be best suited to meet your needs. As one of the most popular rifles in production, the AR 15 is considered by many to be “America’s rifle” as it is a versatile gun that can fit the needs of many different gun enthusiasts. When outfitted with the right AR 15 accessories, the AR 15 can be a camper and hunters best friend.

As the basis for the M16 rifle that is currently used by the United States Military, the AR 15 is a respected and powerful rifle that is manufactured by Colt as well as several other companies. Although the background of this weapon may have started at the military level, as there are many configurations, it has become a popular civilian weapon that can be used for hunting and target shooting. As it is such a popular weapon, there are many AR15 accessories that are available to customize the weapon to the specifications of the user. Scopes, uppers, handguards, and stocks are just some of the many parts that can be changed to make the gun more unique to its owner.

As a weapon that incorporates traditional 5.56mm/.223 caliber rounds, the AR 15 has quickly become a popular weapon amongst medium game hunters. When comparing the round with a traditional deer cartridge, the similarities are striking. In fact, the standard round from an AR 15 has only slightly less muzzle energy than a modern 130 grain smokeless propelled .30-06 bullet. As such, a round fired from an AR 15 should have more than enough energy to drop medium sized game such as mule deer and feral hogs.

The AR 15, as one of the most popular rifles in production, inherently has many after-market parts that can change the configuration to suite the user. As a modular weapon, the AR 15 can easily be changed from an iron-sighted rifle, to a scoped rifle, allowing for longer and more accurate shots. This easy customization is not only beneficial for hunters, but also campers, where weight is always a concern. If a component is deemed unnecessary, or overly weighty, it can be easily swapped out, making the gun more portable and less restricting.

If you are a camper that is also a hunter, it may make sense to check out the many options that are available to the AR 15. As a rifle that offers versatility and customization, the AR 15 should make the short list of rifles for your next camping and hunting excursion.

Tarp Camping

Camping is a really exciting activity. It enables you to do so many things and enjoy the best of what nature has to offer. Camping in the wilderness is best enjoyed when you use the most minimal facilities and rely on your skills to survive in the wild. The best way to do this is through primitive camping or tent camping. However, not everything feels like putting up a tent and would prefer something simpler.

If you wanted an alternative to using tents for camping, why not consider using tarps. You may ask what makes Tarp Camping so different. Let’s take a look at some of the differences you can find between Tarp Camping and Tent Camping:

* They are easy-to-put up and very lightweight. If you are going backpack camping, this is the ideal thing to have. Most Tarps can weigh just below 5 oz. to may be a bit over 15 oz and this includes the tie outs. If you use a stick from the forest or trekking pole for putting up the tarp, you save on carrying trap support equipment as well.

* They offer a better environment than tents because once you get inside the tent, you are in a way more cut off from the wilderness than when you get inside a tarp. If you want to enjoy camping with more closeness to the outside, tarps are certainly better at giving this effect than tents.

* They are quicker to put up than tents. When you find a shower coming on, putting all your stuff under a tarp is much easier than putting up a tent quickly. When you have to suddenly put up a tent, you will have to skillfully get the fly up quickly, else your tent will be absolutely wet. With a tarp there are no such constraints, hence you can use it faster in such situations than tents.

* You can out a tarp up in many different ways. You have the usual A-frame, then have this frame set up and just lift up one corner or have a pole set up in the front for a wide view of the outside and much more.

The main benefit in using tarps is that they are really inexpensive, and though they are low-priced you will find them to be of durable quality and pretty sturdy. If you opt for tarps, you don’t need any expensive camping shelter gear, as they will more than suffice. You can find them being available in different types of materials. If you opt for Nylon coated tarps, you get plenty of protection in uncertain weather conditions, but they are thicker to handle. Polyethylene coated tarps are tougher than nylon ones, as they offer good water-resistance and they won’t get spoilt by mildew or mold.

Tarp camping is easy to do because you can set up your tarp in a matter of minutes. You feel you are closer to nature when you do tarp camping than otherwise. Enjoy camping in the closest way to wilderness through tarp camping.
