Georgia Camping
Georgia is a very old state in Caucasus. It is commonly known as the “Peach State” and it is a place which has everything that a camper is looking for during his camping to USA. Georgia is one of the largest states in United States of America east of Mississippi and it is only 315 miles long and hence every place in Georgia is within the easy driving distance. It is one of the greatest destinations which attract travelers from all over the world. Georgia which was described as an endless city is the home for diverse range of communities. Atlanta, Georgia’s capital city is the natural gateway to the whole of southern US and most of this region are within one hour’s flying time away. Atlanta has a temperate climate with four distinct seasons. Summers are really hot and humid with temperatures above 30*C and winters are very cold. Rainfalls at Atlanta, Georgia are evenly spread throughout the year. Atlanta is also famous for Coca-Cola brand as this was produced as a hangover tonic by a local pharmacist.
Atlanta, Georgia is a traditional town which is home to a host of museums which walk around city’s social history. Museums at Atlanta include the Jimmy Carter Library and National historic site and visitors centre of Martin Luther King Jr. Georgia Aquarium is a place which is a must visit place for camping families as this is one of world’s largest aquarium which houses a huge collection of aquatic animals like whale sharks, African penguins and California sea lions. There are high class shopping malls, good restaurants, un-spoilt beaches, water sports and other entertainment events in the Atlanta metro region. Georgia was a top holiday destination for the Soviet elite as it has boasting snow capped peaks and it has beautiful coastline spread over 100 kilo meter.
Georgia’s State park system, Red Top Mountain is a perfect destination throughout the year where the campers can enjoy boating, swimming and fishing in the 12000 acre lake and where they can even enjoy hiking or biking. During winter months this park offers themed activities like harvest at the homestead, or Christmas at the cabin. One more attractive destination at Georgia which attracts campers from various locations is Clouland Canyon State Park which is defined as a fall destination and one of the most beautiful spots in the state. The Canyon really gives stunning views if we go 600-step staircase and some serious hiking the water falls at the bottom level are really worth it.
During chilly winter months a trip to Georgia’s Hilton Head Island will really be amazing where the winter carnival season is a blast. Hilton Head are filled with entertainment like bike tours, pageants opera and cultural events during January and February. The Gullah celebration in the month of February is famous at Hilton Head where we can learn about the unique lifestyle of the descended West African slaves in that region. Georgia is also known as Gateway to the South because of its mountains and rivers, which open up a whole range of outdoor recreation and historic trails.
