Grand Canyon Camping

The Grand Canyon is without doubt one of the most spectacular and awe inspiring places on earth. It is without doubt one of the seven wonders of nature on earth. The different kinds of rock formations, the color variations on them and the wrinkled crevices make this place look like a red wonderland on earth. The Grand Canyon continues to be a haunting travel destination for any nature lover. It is inarguably also one of the best camping destinations on earth. With 277 miles in length and 15 miles wide, there can be nothing more elaborate and wonderful on earth than to camp in such a location. It is certainly one of those places to visit with your beloved ones and have fun all along, and if you could camp there, it can get no better than that.

The Grand Canyon camping and mountaineering venture is one of the grand ways to see the magnificence of one of the nation’s most celebrated national parks. Here are a few of the most excellent Grand Canyon camping spots that you can camp at:

Mather Campground is situated near Grand Canyon parish; Mather Campground offers great camping close to all the South Rim’s conveniences and hiking trails. No hookups are available, but RVs are welcome. Or try the adjacent Trailer Village, an RV campground with full hookups. Campsites fill up quickly at both locations during peak months, so reservations are strongly recommended from April though November. Discounted off-season camping is available from December through March without reservation, making this an affordable option for winter RV camping.

Mather campground is a great place to camp in the Great Canyon. It offers great camping that is close to all of the southern rim’s hiking and mountaineering trails. Though there are not hookups that are available at this place, your RV’s are more than welcome. If you are planning to visit the place during the months between April and November, it is best if you get a reservation at a camping ground there.

Desert view campground is also a great place to camp in the Grand Canyon. This secluded place is a nestled some 30 miles from the Grand Canyon village, but this place is nevertheless walking distance from the breathtaking desert view overlook. RV’s are very much welcome here too.
The Grand Canyon railway RV park is the best place to camp if you are looking for an old fashioned and a genuine authentic camping spot. This place is located on the route 66 and at around 25 miles west of the flagstaff; this is nothing but a small western town where a classic steam engine ride can be taken from Williams north to the Grand Canyon Village.

North rim campground in the Grand Canyon is a place where only a few tourists visit every year. This camp is open from May to October. It is actually a very viable alternative for the south rim campground, there are several activities available here and the facilities are at par with other campgrounds.
