It was hot when I took off on Thursday. It was 108 in Murphys when I passed through. I went out hiking on Friday and found a watermelon on the trail. Yep, a whole unbroken watermelon.
One of the camp hosts caught a 9 lb trout on Thursday and a 5 lb one on Friday. I was tempted to take my pole over there but it was just too hot. While I was out hiking a deer jumped across the trail. I caught a picture of it further down the trail.
There was a ton of downed wood around so we had a great campfire and the wagon got put to use again.
I saw lots of flowers and butterflies along the way. On Saturday night a bear went around the side of our campsite. I tried to get a picture of it but it took off the opposite way that I went.
