James Ranch Event Center

Very scenic and good price

We stayed here during a college tour of Williams Baptist College nearby. The grounds were very scenic. We brought our mountain bikes and kayaks and enjoyed both. The mountain bike trial that we found only lasted about 20 minutes but was scenic enough to do several times. I was told there were BMX trails but since our stay was short we were content with the short trail. We also did a short kayak trip down the James River. Again, the kayak trip was about 20 minutes and then we'd get out load up the truck and do it again. There is a way to do a much longer trip but again we only had the day and the system we used was fun. We did the 20 minute trip 4x and if felt like a cool waterpark ride with no line. Since the rv park is not overcrowded we were able to bring our dogs kayaking and swimming in the river too without worrying about bothering others. Just a very pleasant stay. All interactions with Mike, Nikki and another family member were good. They also have an event center for weddings. Someone on our college tour had attended a wedding there and highly recommended it.
