expensive for what it is

Long time camper here so it's tough to leave a mediocre review, but they've increased rates to $50 for RV&tent sites and $35 for tent-only. In the past, because it was less expensive, it was easy to overlook some of the quirks of the campground, but with the increased rates, there needs to be honesty around what is expected for that amount of money: 1. Both the RV and Tent-only sites say they support 2 tents, but there isn't a single flat spot for a tent on many of the sites in the campground. For $50, if the campground claims there are two tent sites, there should be clearly defined tent areas that are level and flat, potentially with borders and weed free clean fill. 2. The site was littered with bits of plastic. 3. The campfire is a sub-par saucer without a grate for cooking - again, for the price, they should have state-park standard cylinder pits with cooking grates. Also, the saucer pit was full of rocks from the previous group. 4. They haven't uploaded photos of the campsites to this website, so you don't know what you're getting in advance. 5. Dangerous leaning dead trees over some of the sites. They need to clear those. .. Bonus: I'll give them a pass for the water being out during this visit because their pump failed, even though you'd think $50 for a campsite would help pay for a decent pump, but they had porta-potties that had trash stuffed in between them as well as trash littering the ground in front of them - there is just a feeling of the campsite being a cash cow at this price without the work needed to maintain a level of excellence. Pros: Camp hosts have always been extremely nice and professional. Quiet hours are respected including no generators after 10pm which is wonderful. There is running water nearby so you get a nice white noise of creek sounds. There are some campsites that feel nicely tucked into the trees, although some are just crammed up on the road. Generally this is a nice campground, but they need to up their game if they're going to up their price. Weak value for the price.
