Nice out of the way park

This volunteer maintained park is a bit rough around the edges. The entry lanes are narrow and therefore one way. A large RV would have trouble getting to the farthest sites, only the closeset ones would be accessable. You can reach several if you have a camping trailer. I met several of the volunteers. They are proud of their park and do a reasonable job of caring for it and providing firewood. Sites cost $5 on week days, $10 on weekends. The area is a bit swampy but there are many bat houses set up to help control the mosquitoes. It was breezy when I was there so I can't attest if there are mosquitoes nor if ther are any bats in those houses. There is NO electric service at the camp sites. There is a shelter with open sides near the entrance and there is only one spout to get water. There are NO hookups for RV's and NO dump station. There several port- a-Johns throughout the park. Most of the sites with higher number are adjacent to the river but tend to be small. A few are spacious away from the river.
