About Anza-Borrego Desert State Park

The Anza - Borrego Desert State Park is the largest national park in California with over 600,000 hectares. The park is named after the Anzas, a small town in the San Joaquin Valley of San Diego County, California, about 30 miles south of the city of Anzoategui.

The park offers a wide range of activities, including hiking, camping, fishing, climbing and hiking. Visitors can also see a variety of wildlife as well as a number of waterfalls and other natural features.

Hearing aids for the hearing impaired are available in the visitor centre and a hearing aid for the hearing impaired.

Most visitors come from the east via the S22, S2 and 78 highways, but the mountainous Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, which offers a very different experience from Anza - Borrego, also had its share of visitors.

Where the highway breaks through the vegetation of the highlands, it reveals the great bowl of Anza - Borrego's desert.

There are mountains everywhere; the highest is in the north, the Santa Rosa Mountains, and the valleys stretch below. The mountains are wilderness, without paved roads that lead through them, but there is a high mountain to the south, a low mountain, an open valley and a small mountain range along the road.

Few park visitors have ever seen them and the sheep are rightly suspicious, but there are so many of them that they are often referred to as desert sheep. They behave as if the water were flowing throughout the year - around the clock, with no signs of drought, no signs of rain or snow, just a steady stream of water.

Over the years, some patient observers have observed and counted them, learning about their status as endangered species and their importance to the park.

Anza - Borrego Desert State Park now offers AT & T Wi-Fi service that provides Internet access to park visitors. The service can be used from the main parking lot of the park (located only 150 meters from the Rangers office) or from any of its multi-storey car parks.
