About Bulow Creek State Park

The dominant tree is one of the most important trees in Bulow Creek State Park, and the park is protected by the only remaining population of this tree species in the United States.

For over 800 years, human activities along Bulow Creek, including the construction of the Bulowing Creek Trail and the expansion of Bulowed Creek State Park, have been the primary water source for the creek and its tributaries, as well as for human activity in the park.

Several trails allow hikers to explore the interior of the park, where visitors can observe white and tail deer, owls and raccoons, picnics and picnics with visitors. The Bulowing Creek Trail, a 1.5 km trail, leads hikers through the Bulow ruins and several other trails along the creek and its tributaries. This hotel is located on the western edge of Bulowed Creek State Park, just north of New York City.

Backpackers can camp in the original campsites, but permission to stay overnight is required. Permits, maps and other information can be obtained from the Bulowed Creek State Park website or from the New York State Department of Environmental Protection.

Picnic is the order of the day for park visitors, and small pavilions and picnic tables are offered on the meadow at the entrance to Bulowed Creek State Park. In the I meadows, a fairytale sight under the oak tree, there are also tables for picnics and other outdoor activities.

There are several ways to explore the interior of the park, and two hiking trails start from the parking lot at Fairchild Oak.

The Bulow Woods Trail is a 6.8 km (6.8 mile) trail that leads from Fairchild Oak to the Bulow Ruins, and the northern part of the Bulow Ruins is recommended for a half-day tour. The path leads through the forest and into a lively oak forest with a variety of trees and shrubs and a small stream.

Wahlin Trail, the only trail in the park where the Kokina rocks rise above the creek at the top of a steep slope on the west side of Bulowing Creek.

The trail is open during the day from 8.30 am to sunset, the trail to Bulow Woods Trail from 9 am to 5 pm. Black-tailed deer and a variety of birds of prey such as coyotes, wild boars, foxes, raccoons, squirrels, owls, pheasants and other birds are also frequently seen. Bulowing Creek State Park is located on the Old Dixie Highway near Ormond Beach.
