About Saint Lucie Inlet State Park

This classic barrier island in Florida is worth a visit and is home to one of the most beautiful beaches in the state of Florida, St. Lucie Island State Park. This walk takes visitors to a clean and well-preserved Atlantic beach, and one can even come ashore to dig a hole in the sand where the eggs were laid. During the summer months, the island is shortened by the Florida Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Visitors come for swimming, snorkeling and diving are also popular activities, and others go on great surfing and fishing trips. The reserve is a great place for nature students who want to learn more about the history of St. Lucie Island State Park and its wildlife.

St. Lucie Island State Park and adjacent islands are home to many species of animals, including big cats, otters, raccoons and more. Morning and late afternoon are the best times to see most animals, as they are the most active.

St. Lucia is also a very good place to see a variety of birds, such as hawks, eagles, owls and other birds of prey. The park is part of the Great Florida Birding Trail and its diverse habitat Bird lovers have a great opportunity to observe many different bird species.

Water temperatures vary from the mid-to-mid-seventies in summer to the late nineties in winter.

During the day, strong winds can cause ripening on land and lifeguards are on the way in the area.

The vast Anastasia Reef is located just off the coast of the park and stretches from the coast to a depth of 5 feet to 35 feet. It is home to several species of coral found in South Florida and is also associated with a variety of other marine life such as sharks, turtles, crabs and sea turtles.

Although there are no rental facilities, miles of tidal waves are waiting to be explored with your own kayaks and canoes. Within the boundaries of the national park, no spear fishing is allowed, but there is a small fishing area in the park for those interested.

Snook, Snapper and Sheepshead are regularly brought to the docks, and Snook and Pompano bluefish are caught on the beach. Several good fishing areas in the park are located a few miles off the coast of St. Lucie Beach, south of the entrance to the national park.

Kobia, snapper and mackerel are regularly caught on the offshore reefs and no saltwater fishing permit is required.

From March to October, the beach is bedridden from March to October; you just have to watch the waves wash ashore. The park has a variety of beaches, from sandy beaches to sand dunes and even a small beach for kayaking.

Within a few hundred meters from the shore, you can see a variety of marine life, but just think of waves to take pictures and leave it at that.

A diving loop and flag must be shown when snorkeling or diving, and a diving loop flag must be shown when diving. A freshwater shower is also available to wash away the salt water sand after a fun day on the beach with freshwater showers. A covered picnic shelter with picnic table is available within sight of the beaches.

On the way, you will cross two hammocks along the coast, one on the north side of the beach and the other at the southern end of the beach.

One of the most common plants seen along the way is the white tropical stopper tree, native to South Florida and located in the state of Florida on the north side of St. Lucie Island State Park. On the beach you will find a number of state-listed plants, such as the black-eyed peas and the skunk.

The smell of skunk comes from the "white stopper" of tropical trees, and it is also present in many other plant species.
