About Laura S. Walker State Park

The park is located on the northern edge of the mysterious Okefenokee swamp and is home to many fascinating animals and plants. On the nature trails along the lake, visitors can admire what they see and admire the natural beauty of this beautiful place.

The lake in the park offers opportunities for boating, skiing and fishing, and the 18-hole championship course on the lakes offers a variety of golf courses as well as other sports such as tennis, golf and tennis.

The name is well deserved and one of the few in the park named after a woman, and Laura Walker is a great example of the work that is done to preserve trees and her name deserves it.

The lake offers natural beauty that is rare on today's golf courses, and Steve Burns' golf design preserves much of that beauty by using native sand in the many traps and fallow areas.

The fairways and landing fields are characterized by gentle hills on the left, while the three large lakes accentuate the course. The green areas are more undulating and staggered and so wide that it is not unusual to see alligators on the waterways. What better incentive to keep the ball in the fairway than the sight of a large alligator in a waterway?

No arrangements are required for the use of the golf course or any other area of Laura S. Walker State Park.

Opening hours may vary depending on the season, except weekends and special events such as the annual golf tournament and other events.

Reservations can be accepted on recommended weekends and holidays, except on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, which is open all day on Boxing Day.

The hotel is located on the west side of the park at the intersection of US 82 and US 95 in Waycross.

Take 1 / 75 to Exit 62, follow US-82 East to the intersection and follow it 47 miles to 95 at Exit 36 West.
