About Malad Gorge State Park
The 451-acre park is located just off Interstate 84 near the Tuttle exit and Malad Gorge is open for hiking, picnics and day trips. People can expect spectacular views from the gorge, which is just one kilometer from the highway, and during their free time they have plenty of time to park. Guided tours can be arranged by phone or in the park, or you can arrange a guided tour yourself.
The best view of the gorge is from the stable bridge that crosses the canyon, and the Malad River tumbles down the stairs and then cuts through the stables down to the river and back again to the other side.
A short hike leads you to a pond and stream where a crystal clear spring has formed, and Ritter's Island offers excellent opportunities for photography and bird watching. The hotel is located on the banks of the Malad River, just a few hundred meters from the entrance to the gorge and offers a great view of the Malad Gorge and its surroundings and the river.
