About Jubilee College State Park

Jubilee College State Park is a 3,200-acre facility located on the west side of St. Louis County, Illinois, about 30 miles west of Chicago. Jubilee is located in the Illinois plain and has been transformed into a flood zone with steep slopes and canyons. The eruptions are numerous and include slate, sandstone, limestone and coal, as well as a variety of other minerals such as gold, silver, copper, nickel, gold and copper. The meandering Jubilees Creek and its tributary, the River, offer a variety of outdoor recreational activities, including hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing, camping, hiking and fishing.

The highest elevation is 660 feet, the lowest at 1,500 feet with a maximum height of 2,000 feet.

The topography of Jubilee Creek provides an aesthetically pleasing environment for outdoor activities and provides habitat for numerous species of animals and fish. More than 160 bird species can be found here, and a wild turkey, which has been kept since 1988, is home to the jubilee.

Visitors can see the creek, which provides insights into mink, muskrats and beavers in its creek bed, as well as the park's creek beds and the banks of its tributary Kickapoo Creek, which crosses the parks from northwest to southeast.

Perch, blue fish, catfish and carp are among the species of fish that are interesting for anglers, but swimming in the creek is prohibited. It is characterized by deep pools and fast reefs; the average depth is four inches and the average width is 40 feet, according to the National Park Service.

After a series of misfortunes, culminating in the death of the bishop, the college closed in 1924. The college's 93-acre site was transferred to the state of Illinois in 1933, and the Department of Natural Resources has since increased the cultivation area to 3,200 hectares.

The college buildings, which were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, were restored to their original appearance under the management of the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency.

The park continues to flourish, with access roads connecting the park to the college campus via downtown streets. From 15 April to 1 November, the campsites can accommodate recreational vehicles and tents and have flush toilets, showers, flush toilets, fireplaces, picnic tables and other amenities. No permits are required, but they can be obtained from the campsite staff or the hosts.

The campsite is open from April to November daily from 10 am to 7 pm.

Reservations are no longer accepted, but can still be made via the Park's website or by calling 1-888-743-5555.

Coyote Cove Loop is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. M. Saturdays and Sundays, and from 5.30 p.m., 1.45 p.m. and 4 p.m., Monday to Friday. Running water is available in the park's main parking lot on the south side of Coyote Creek Road, south of the parking lot.

In winter, picnics are permitted at several large picnic spots in the park, whether at the Coyote Cove Loop, by the creek or in the parking lot on the south side of Coyotes Creek Road. These areas are closed but have picnic tables, picnic chairs and other amenities such as a picnic table.
