About Boston Harbor Island State Park

Boston Harbor Island State Park, one of 17 islands in our national park, is a wonderful natural resource. It is a beautiful, picturesque and unique place with a rich history of fishing, hunting, fishing and recreation.

The seventeen islands are managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) as part of Boston Harbor Island State Park, a national park within the national park system. It is the only state park in the United States with its own beach, which is occupied daily and during the summer weekends in spring and autumn. Shade can be found on all three islands as well as on the main island of the island, and there are a variety of nature and leisure activities such as fishing, hunting, fishing and recreation.

During your visit, a local park manager and an interpreter will live on the island and offer ongoing educational programs and special events. They offer island surveillance and island tours, and visit the Boston Harbor Islands to see island openings and special events.

There is no drinking water or grocery store on the island and pets are not allowed, so visitors must follow these guidelines and interfere with other visitors such as children, dogs, cats or other animals.

Permission is required for daily use, but access to certain areas such as the car park, picnic areas and other areas of the park may be subject to a charge.

Camping on the island is a primitive camping experience and is only possible with a reservation fee. Accommodation on designated islands, including grapes, pumpkins, lovell and pedocus, is permitted. Peddock is known as the "pondock" and is home to a wide variety of plants and animals as well as a large number of birds.

Weather conditions are changeable, so plan accordingly and see above for ferry information and transportation to the island. There is no water or food on the islands and temperatures in the harbour are usually cooler than on the mainland, but weather conditions vary from day to day.
