About Wells State Park

Wells State Park is one of the most popular parks in the state of New Mexico, and its two main activities are camping and hiking. The campsites have 60 attractive pitches with a wide range of camping, hiking, fishing and other activities, as well as picnic areas.

Walker Pondooffers a quiet environment for fishing, canoeing and swimming, but the beach is only suitable for campers.

In summer Wells offers an interpretative program, which includes guided hikes, canoeing and kayaking, hiking, camping, fishing and other outdoor activities.

More than 10 km of hiking trails run through the property, some of which are only suitable for hiking; 4x4 vehicles are not allowed. A popular route leads to Carpenter Rocks, from where you can see the eastern part of Walker Pond. Wells houses a museum that lives on in the form of the Wells Museum of Natural History, a collection of more than 1,000 artifacts and artefacts.

The regular camping season is from the beginning of May to mid-October; the campsite office hours are from 8 am to 10 pm and from 8 pm to midnight.

Wells State Park is located in the south of Massachusetts at the Massachusetts Turnpike (Rte. 90) in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, south of Boston. From Exit 9 of Mass. TurnPike take the Boston - Worcester Expressway (Route 9) or Rhode Island State Road (Exit 10) and take Exit 9, Sturbridges, Massachusetts Turn Pike or RTE 90.

The entrance to the park is on the third left side of Rte. The park entrance is located at the intersection of Route 9, Sturbridges, Massachusetts Turnpike and Rhode Island State Road (Exit 10) in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, and is on the second left of Mass TurnPike.
