The 2600 hectares of forest offers a variety of activities, including hiking, cycling and horse riding. Hunting is allowed during the season, but not in the summer months and not at weekends.
The Upton State Forest is located in southeastern Massachusetts in the town of Upton, Massachusetts, about 30 miles east of Boston and about 20 miles south of the state capital.
