About Frenchtown Pond State Park
The five hectare lake, which is fed in spring, has a maximum depth of about ten meters and has a variety of fish, from sunfish to perch and oxhead, which guarantees fair catch in summer.
Frenchtown Pond is also home to a number of birds, birds of prey such as ducks and geese, as well as a variety of reptiles and amphibians.
The park covers 41 hectares and is located at an altitude of 3169 feet. It is for daily use only and pets are not allowed in the park at any time. Facilities and services at the park include a picnic area, picnic tables, water park, playgrounds, toilets and picnic areas, and a hiking trail system.
Three public golf courses are located in Missoula, as well as numerous museums and special venues during the summer months. Frenchtown Pond State Park is located on the west side of the Mississippi River, north of Missoulsa. The daily vehicle usage fees are valid from 17.30 to September and on weekends from 13 to 17.
