About Pillsbury State Park
Pillsbury State Park, heavily wooded and dotted with several ponds and wetlands, is one of the lesser-known jewels of New York State Park. This diversity of habitats provides a wide variety of animal species, including elk and divers.
The park is criss-crossed by a network of hiking and mountain biking trails, and has a total of 51 km of hiking trails linking Mount Monadnock to Mount Sunapee in the north and Mount Pillsbury in the south. Hiking, cycling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling are popular activities in and around the park.
History buffs will love to explore the abandoned cellars of the old town, when the area was called Cherry Valley. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12, and admission to the main entrance and parking is free.
