Lake Aeroflex and Gardner Ponds are part of the headwaters of the Pequest River and are ideal for fishing and boating. A feature of Kittatinny Valley State Park is its beautiful lakes and ponds, as well as its picturesque views of New York City.

The scenic property is home to a variety of wildlife including birds, reptiles, mammals, amphibians, birds of prey, fish and reptiles. Boating, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, camping, fishing, horseback riding and hiking are popular activities.

The former railway line, which has been converted into several hiking trails, is a popular destination for hikers, mountain bikers, hikers and mountain bikers. The track is one of the most popular trails in the state of New York and the only one in New Jersey.

The vast cinder area is a great place for horse riding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and hiking. The track offers good snow conditions and mushers and their dogs can even see sledges on the track.

The Lake Aeroflex boat ramp is open 24 hours for fishing boats, and the lakefront and boat parking on the west side of the park are open only during the day.

A small number of picnic tables and barbecues are available in the Limecrest Road car park. Further picnic tables are distributed in the park and in the parking lot on the west side of the lake.

Motorised vehicles are not allowed on the parking lanes and many use or drive on the gravel roads.

There are single-track gravel roads, many are used by hard mountain bikers for technical terrain and some are designated as self-guided nature trails. Some of the single trails and gravel trails are suitable for cross-country skiing, mountain biking and cross-country skiing.

Most of the 27 miles pass under the majestic Hainseburg Viaduct, which was once part of the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad. The track has a wide, fixed cinder base, which is suitable for cross-country skiing, mountain biking and snowshoeing. It passes through the historic town of Paulinskill with its historic buildings, historic churches and historic houses, as well as the old railway tracks. An annual bird census conducted by members of a Paulinkill Valley Trail Committee identified more than 1,000 bird species in the national park, many of which are native to the area.

The six bridge crossings over the Paulinskill River offer scenic river views and fishing access, as well as scenic views of the Hudson River and its tributary, the Mohawk.

The 20-mile path passes through a graded uplift - in the Paulinskill Valley Trail Corridor, a 1,000-foot stretch of road. The corridor has a gradient of 1.5 to 2.0% and includes underpasses that allow agricultural equipment and dairy cattle to pass from one side of a track to the other. Monthly hikes on the Paulins Valley Trail Committee are sponsored by the Paula's Hill Trail Association (908 - 684 - 4820) and the New York State Department of Environmental Protection.

The Sussex Branch Trail also runs through Allamuchy Mountain State Park and runs along the Paulinskill Valley Trail Corridor. The flat, muddy trail offers a variety of applications, including hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, kayaking and canoeing. This path offers wheelchair access to the hiking trail on the top of the hill and access from the parking lot on the south side.

Motorised vehicles are not allowed on this route, but disabled people can drive in the area. Due to the railway line, the gradation is minimal and the path runs along the railway line for most of the route.

The corridor is narrow and the land along this route is normally privately owned, so check the status of the park and its status as a public park.

Out of courtesy, walkers should give way to cyclists and everyone should make way for horses.

Cyclists should also warn walkers and horses not to overtake the path verbally or with a bell. Please note the hunting season in autumn and winter, as adjacent private and public areas may be open for hunting.

The park offers a variety of interpretative and educational programs on a year-round basis. Nature walks take place on weekends in the spring and summer season and are conducted by naturalists and invited guest speakers.

Lower frequency programs are also planned in the fall and winter, and you can see the park's prizes - award-winning butterfly and hummingbird gardens. Kittatinny Valley State Park is brimming with bright colors during the spring and summer months, with a variety of plants and animals and an abundance of wildlife.

From the park office, take Route 206 North for about five miles toward Andover County, turn right onto Goodale Road and follow it to the entrance to Kittatinny Valley State Park. Visit the Visitor Centre to see if you have become a junior naturalist or to get more information about the park and its activities.

The airport is operated by the State of New Jersey and is located within the boundaries of Kittatinny Valley State Park. It is used for general aviation, and airplane watching is a popular pastime at the airport, as well as in a number of other parks in the park.

Aeroflex Andover Airport is operated as a general aviation airport by the New York Fire Department as an air base. During the fire season, the airport serves as a base to allow helicopters and commercial sprayers to drop water in the event of forest fires. Note: A gate has been installed at the northern end of the airport to comply with the NJDOT Aviation Department's requirements and improve access to the parking lot on the eastern edge of KittatinnyValley State Park. Visitors are no longer allowed to cross the runways to the southern shore of Lake Aer-Ole.

The park's footpaths, offices and other facilities are accessible from the park's main entrance on Goodale Road, but the gate is closed to pedestrians, cyclists and cyclists. Visitors can also use the parking lot on the eastern edge of KittatinnyValley State Park at the entrance to Limecrest Road.
