About Battle Island State Park
The land, owned by F.A. Emerick, passed to the state in 1916 and Battle Island became a national park in 1938, when the rest of the land was handed over. The park takes its name from the battle that took place on the island in the early hours of July 2, 1864 between the US and British armies.
The 18-hole course is a challenge for aspiring professional and amateur players, and the park is also used for cross-country skiing in winter. This popular course in Fulton is located directly on the Oswego River and offers golfers a variety of courses, including a four-hole course, a par-3 par 4, two par-5 and a short par 3.
