About Hochatown State Park

Originally part of Beavers Bend State Park, this adjacent state park sits on the shores of Broken Bow Lake and offers beautiful views of the Great Lakes and the nearby Beaver Bend National Wildlife Refuge. Watch the sunrise over the lake from your balcony room at Lakeview Lodge or take in the view of Lake Erie from the parking lot of Lake View Lodge.

Leisure facilities include an illuminated boat ramp, picnic tables, a picnic area and a water park.

Beavers Bend State Park and Beaver Bend National Wildlife Refuge include a recreational area with a variety of activities for children and adults, including a playground, swimming pool, canoeing, boating, kayaking, fishing, hiking, picnics and much more. Beavers surround the national park and include a leisure area with many outdoor activities such as swimming, paddling, cycling, camping and fishing.

In June, Beavers Bend State Park hosts the Owa Chito Festival in the forest, and the area is also home to the annual Beaver Bend National Wildlife Refuge Fly Fishing Festival. The watch shows fly-fishing clinics in November, February, November and April and a fly-fishing clinic in May.
