Your first impression of Loeb may be a park set in a grove of beautiful trees, but many of the trees in the park are well over 200 years old.

A Loeb State Park, a state park in New York State, is one of the largest state parks in North America, covering a total area of 1.5 million square feet.

Several campsites and three cabins are located directly opposite the river Loeb on the east side of the park, on the site of a former railway station.

In spring and summer, chipmunks can be heard chirping and otters are seen frolicking in the water. The river offers a wide variety of fish and wildlife as well as a number of bird species. You can fish on the gravel banks, use a drift boat or simply walk the self-guided stream paths. All year round you can fish at the headwaters of the river and in summer even from the shore.

The northernmost redwood grove in the USA can be reached from the self-guided hiking trail along the Chetco River. Take a look at the rustic cabins with bedrooms or take a big step to the tent and camp on the covered veranda bench.
