About Russian Gulch State Park

The park is known for its densely wooded headland where the headland is located and for the beach from which you have a beautiful view of the Russian Gulf and its many lakes. Inland there is a 36 foot waterfall and inland there are two waterfalls, one on the north bank and one on the south bank.

Hikers can enjoy miles of hiking trails, and the park also features an asphalt bike path of 3 km and a 2 km long bike path.

The Russian Gulch State Park was acquired in 1933 to supplement the resources of the State Park.

With its rugged headlands stretching into the blue Pacific Ocean, the park is considered by many to be a rival to Point Lobos on the north coast. The park has a population of about 2,000 people and a total area of 1.5 million square meters.

You can observe the undulating sea at high tide and the pits lined with flowers and plants, and you can look out over the sea, which is lined with pits of flowering plants. One of the many peculiarities of these headlands is the Russian Gorge Tunnel, a series of tunnels blown into the ground. This formation was achieved by the incessant pounding of the waves at the headland. At the end of the tunnel, earth was drilled and shaped, resulting in a tunnel that led about 200 feet inland.

The Russians who founded Fort Ross in 1811 were probably the first white men to explore and map the area. When the US government sent cartographers to map the site, it was called the "Russian Gorge" in honor of the Russians.

In 1852, a sawmill was built on the Big River, and there are several other sawmills in the area, as well as a number of other mills and mills.

In Russian Gorge there was a small schooner that sailed between San Francisco and Humboldt Bay, and the sea was the only means of transportation. Other mills were built on the Big River, as were a number of other mills built in the small "bays," as they were called.

They would take cargo and passengers north and pick up wood or passengers on the way back. It was a very dangerous operation in bad weather and many of the small ships were lost, as were the lives of many people.

Russian canyon produced many of the connections used on the transcontinental railroad, and shingles were considered excellent material for rail connections. Old iron rings, which held the high lines that loaded the ships with wood, were anchored to the rocks around the headland. Shingles were also produced here and Russian gullies produced the many compounds used for the transcontinental railway.

The area, on which the recreation hall stands today, was built at the end of the 19th century as a recreation center for the municipality. The tall trees have grown to a height of over 400 meters above sea level and to a depth of about 2500 feet.

The park's headland offers a magnificent view of the north and south coasts from the mouth, and the park's headland features framed photos of Russia, the Russian Gulf and the Russian coast.

On the headland lies the Blohole, a hole of 100 feet in diameter formed by a collapsed wave tunnel.

It is an inspiring sight when the surf rises from the hole and the sound of the waves roars through the tunnel.

The park is located in the heart of the Russian Gulf state, just a short drive from the city of St. Petersburg. It is possible to combine the paths of this magnificent tour of the park and you can choose a direct, rather arduous route to the gorge or take a longer or shorter route around the waterfall.
