About Wharton Brook State Park
Perched on a wooded sandy hill, Wharton Brook offers solitude for peaceful picnics. The park was known as a hiking trail from 1918 to 1920 and was developed by the US Department of Transportation as a rest stop. Drivers stopped at the park to park their cars for a quiet picnic.
Take Exit 13, turn left onto Route 5, then right onto the exit for the New Jersey Turnpike and then left again onto Interstate 95 exit.
One-tenth of a mile to your left is the entrance to the park at the exit for the New Jersey Turnpike on the north side of Interstate 95.
