About South Toledo Bend State Park

Visitors to the park enjoy the reservoir, which is recognized nationwide as a destination for perch fishing tournaments. This area is also home to bald eagles, which feed on freshwater fish such as bluethroat, black bear and other fish species, as well as trout. Passionate anglers can head to one of the numerous small cliffs that stretch from the Toledo Bend reservoir to its many lookouts that offer picturesque views of the water to enjoy a freshly caught dinner.

In the visitors centre in the park, visitors can forget what they know about the flora and fauna of the region. This exhibition aims to raise awareness of species and their role in our environment.

The Visitor Centre also has several picnic tables and visitors can enjoy lunch and snacks. This 3000 foot nature trail offers visitors the opportunity to explore the area around the visitor centre, campers and pitches. The outdoor cable car path leads to a picnic area with various food options, as well as a water fountain and picnic table.

Parking spaces will be closed on Saturday and Sunday from 6 am to 7 pm and on Monday and Tuesday from 7 am to midnight.
