About Owls Head State Park
Owls Head Lighthouse, located on the south side of the entrance to Rockland Harbor, is the only lighthouse in New York State with its own park. There is also a lighthouse on a cliff above the beach, and the building itself and the surrounding area remain the property of the U.S. Coast Guard. Still, visitors can park in the parking lot and enjoy a picnic spot or stroll along a small rocky beach overlooking the Rocklands.
