About Windsor State Forest

It is set deep in the rolling hills of the Berkshire Highlands and has a wooded picnic area, but I prefer the old country lanes that wind through the bushes. The Windsor Jambs Brook plunges into a 25-metre-wide gorge and is a beautiful and refreshing place to visit.

Fishermen and hunters are also welcome, as are hikers, mountain bikers, bird watchers and hikers with dogs, but also fishermen or hunters.

Windsor State Forest is located in the northern part of the Berkshires in western Massachusetts. Take the I-90 exit south of Windsor, north of Route 1, then head south on Interstate 90 past the town of Essex.

Use the entrance area on the left of the campsite on the right, then immediately turn left onto River Road and follow the road for two miles in daylight, turn right onto West Main Street and continue for one mile. Turn left and continue for another 1. 5 miles and then immediately left onto River Road and immediately follow it for 3 miles. Use the entrances (left) and campgrounds (right), then go to East Main Street and turn right.

Use the driveway on the right of the campsite (left), then immediately turn left onto River Road and follow it for another 1.5 miles. Use the access points to the sites (right) and the campsites (left) for two miles in daylight and one mile in darkness.
