About Chester-Blandford State Forest
The Blandford State Forest offers beautiful views of the Chester - Chester National Forest and its surroundings. I remember the days when the hills of Chester were dominated by small mines producing mica, emery and corundum.
Camping (first come, first served) is possible in 12 wooded areas, but take your time along the historic and scenic Byway (US Rte. Try the H. Newman Marsh Memorial Trail, which offers scenic views of the Chester - Chester National Forest and Chester State Forest.
Nearby is the Boulder Park, which offers a slightly graded Universal Access nature trail, and the waterfalls can also be seen from the top of a hill on the south side of Boulder Road.
Chester - Blandford State Forest is located in the eastern Berkshire Hills in western Massachusetts. From Westfield take Exit 3 towards US Rte. 3 exit on the west side of the State Forest and exit 4 to Chester - Chester National Forest (exit 2).
After the toll booth, keep to the right and follow the road Rtes. At the toll booth, Rte follows.
3 towards Chester - Blandford State Forest and exit 4 towards Chester National Forest (exit 2).
Turn right and continue 18.6 miles to Sanderson Brook Falls and follow the USA on Rte. US at toll booth and turn right onto the road towards Chester - Blandford State Forest (Exit 4).
