Imagine you are standing on a huge granite rock and you are in Elephant Rocks State Park. It is one of the most beautiful places in the USA and a great place to hike, camp, hike and camp.

Hot magma cooled and formed roughly crystalline red granite, which later weathered into huge round boulders. Dumbo, one of the largest elephant rocks, stands on a granite rock and visitors to Elephant Rocks State Park can view the granite block from the one-kilometer long Braille Trail, designed for people with visual and physical disabilities.

The path passes a dredging lake, which today houses a variety of animal species, and a second spur leads visitors to a point overlooking the old quarry. A short detour on the way leads the visitor to the granite rocks, where he can explore a maze of giant elephant rocks.

Red granite was used as a paving stone, which was first used commercially at the end of the 19th century. Today Missouri Red Granite is polished and polished mainly for monument use, but it is still available for commercial use as a stone for many purposes.

On the south side of Farmington, there is a Route W flyover and you travel I-55 South to St. Louis on the US Highway, then turn right onto the US Highway and travel south for a short distance on the highway.

The journey takes about an hour and a half and the entrance to the park is on the right side of the road. Turn right on the northbound freeway and turn left at the flashing light, then right again on I-55 South.

The ride takes about two and a half hours, and when you leave Potosi, turn right onto the freeway, turn right again onto I-55. Go south and right back onto the US Highway.

From Springfield to St. Louis, take I-44 and turn right onto Highway, turn left onto Interstate 35, then right onto Interstate 55 and right back onto US Highway.

The journey takes at least four hours, but when you leave Potosi, turn right onto the freeway and then right again onto the US highway.
