About Monmouth Battlefield State Park

One of the greatest battles of the American Revolution took place in the fields and forests that now make up Monmouth Battlefield State Park. The park offers a variety of interpretative and educational programs and preserves the rolling farmland and hedges, including horse riding trails, a restored Revolutionary War farmhouse and the historic battlefield itself. Join us on a day of hiking, cycling, horse riding and walking, as well as a visit to the park's historic site.

Most programs are free, but please contact the Visitor Center to find out if a program has been cancelled or postponed. The re-enactment of the Battle of Monmouth is an annual event in the park at the end of June, so check out the events calendar.

Look out for children, otherwise the recruiting sergeant will drill them with wooden muscles. Watch the women of the army cook, repair and wash weapons, and the men clean and clean their weapons and pass the time gambling. You meet the drum major and his drum majors, who drill the musicians themselves. Soldiers can watch the drills and firing artillery shells in the parade ground, watch women in the army cook and repair, wash and cook their weapons, and men clean and clean their weapons and spend time with casinos.

In 2003, the Monmouth battlefield celebrated the 225th anniversary of the victorious battle and in 2004, its 100th birthday. The cost of this annual event in the park is borne by the National Park Service, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit.

T-shirts are made of 100% cotton and can be bought in the park's souvenir shop. For more information and to order, please visit the Park's gift shop online or call (866) 888-467-3200.

Extensive restoration work on battlefields has been funded from public and private sources since the 1990s. Walking across the battlefield, you will find that it remains a functioning landscape. The grassland and fallow land is used as a shelter for grassland birds and small mammals, and the Applegates grow corn and soybeans, which a family (the Wikoff family) grows on 285 hectares of Wemrock Road.

An extensive orchard is cultivated in the park by a local family who have been cultivating the area since 1908. Visitors can learn more about the battle by walking up the hill to the exhibit or taking a tour of the museum produced by the Friends of the Monmouth Battlefield.
