About Findley State Park

Sandstone, 300 million years ago, the sandstone is still present in the form of sandstone boulders at the bottom of the lake of the park.

This part of the state is known as Ohio Milky Way, and grain cows are a common sight. In the park there are animals that make up a large number of animals, such as cows, goats, sheep, horses, pigs, chickens, dogs, cats, birds and even a few birds.

Long before the first settlers arrived in the area, what is now Lorain County was inhabited by Erie Indians. The firearms were purchased by the Dutch, as were a number of other firearms such as rifles, shotguns, pistols and pistols.

In 1795, the land north of the Treaty Line was established in the Greenville Treaty as a reserve for the Indians. The threat of Indian invasions still existed in the area, but settlement progressed slowly, and in 1790 an area known as Wellington was established, along with the settlement of Lorain County. Today Wellington has a rich heritage with a number of historic sites, including the Wellington Museum and the New York State Museum of Art.

New England's influence on architecture is reflected in many of the park's buildings, including the New York State Museum and the Wellington Museum.

Canoes, rowing boats and pedal boats can be rented at the marina, and a 435-foot beach with discounts attracts swimmers.

The picnic area is located in a picturesque area of the park and is available upon reservation. A self-guided interpretation trail starts and ends at the camp check-in - in the building, and it is accessible on foot, by bike or on foot.

The Wellington State Wildlife Area covers 200 hectares adjacent to the park, and hiking trails and viewing platforms are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the summer months. Huron consists of a wooded island in the middle of the lake, with an area of 1,000 hectares. The two state nature reserves are within 40 minutes drive and both offer hiking, biking and canoeing trails.

480 West S.R. Park is located on the east side of Huron Lake, just east of the town of Findley, in the town of St. Clair County. The park is home to a variety of animal species and is a popular destination for hiking, biking, canoeing, camping and other outdoor activities.

The park is located on Huron Lake, the largest freshwater lake in St. Clair County and the second largest in Michigan.
