About Frances Slocum State Park

Frances Slocum State Park covers an area of 165 hectares, covered by a horseshoe-shaped lake and a series of paths and a small stream, and forms the focal point of the park. On November 2, 1778, a small group of Delaware Indians broke into the house of SlOCum and kidnapped Frances, who was only five years old at the time. Frances Sloco Lake is the heart of Frances's State Park and is the largest of its kind in the United States, covering 165 hectares.

On the first night of her abduction, she spent time in an area considered the border of the national park. Frances tried to escape that night but was soon caught and spent the rest of his life with the American Indians. When they moved west, he was taken with them to New York City and then to the United States, where he lived with his family for several years.

Twice married, with four children, he was found dead in his bed in a cabin on the outskirts of New York City. His brother never gave up the search and his body was found in the woods near his family's home in North Carolina.

Frances refused his brother's request to return to Pennsylvania, but he wrote and learned to live with American Indians in his home state of New York for a few years.

Frances Slocum died in Indiana in 1847 at the age of 74, and her final resting place was found in the Mississinewa Reservoir State Forest in Indiana. There is a monument marking the site of her death, also known as Mocanaquah, or Queen of the Desert, on the Mississippi near the Indiana-Michigan border, across the Mississippi River, Indiana, as well as a memorial to her.

The place is best equipped with a picnic table and fireplace, with plenty of picnic tables, picnic chairs and a fireplace for cooking and eating. In the park there are different types of tents available, such as campsites, cabins or a cabin.

Organized groups can rent a modern area that can accommodate up to 40 people and has a picnic table, picnic chairs, a fireplace and many picnic tables and chairs. The swimming pool is open every day of the week from 9 am to 4 pm unless otherwise stated, and there is a swimming area with pool, beach and picnic area.

Lake Frances Slocum, which is 165 hectares in size, has two berths, two berths and a jetty, and the pool is also used. A seasonal snack bar serves snacks and drinks, and boats can be rowed on the lake from 9 am to 4 pm on weekdays and from 1 pm to 5 pm on weekends.

All motor boats must have a boat registration in the respective state, and all non-motorized boats must have one of the following boat registrations in each state. On weekdays, from 9 am to 4 pm, and from 1 pm to 5 pm, picnics are available on the picnic area of the park.

This area is available on First Coming, First Serve and Three Walks - you can reserve a picnic pavilion for $11 a month for an advance payment. There is no unrestricted picnic in this pavilion and all areas of the park are open from 9 am to 4 pm on weekdays and from 1 pm to 5 pm from 11 am to 3 pm.

The interpretative path has three loops of varying lengths, allowing you to enjoy a variety of views of the park and its surroundings, as well as some of Frances Slocum's historic sites. On the way you will see a rock hut where American Indians temporarily held their young captives in Frances Slocums. Campers can also follow this route on the Campground Trail, a short section that follows the larch trail.

The trail starts at the Environmental Centre and passes through a variety of habitats, including the ancient forest, wild flowers and a number of wildlife areas. Some routes lead to hunting areas, so caution is required when hiking during the hunting season.

The trail starts at the Environmental Center and follows the lakeside. It starts at the main entrance of the park on the west side of the lake, north of Lake Ontario. The lake and its many lakes are popular with anglers, with a variety of fish and birds, as well as a number of wildlife areas.

The park offers a variety of environmental education and interpretation programs starting at the Environmental Center at the park's main entrance on the west side of the lake, north of Lake Ontario. There are programs available for schools in this area based on natural history, environmental sciences, wildlife and other topics.

A self-guided nature trail starts nearby and interprets the natural resources of the park. The park houses an exhibition of American Indians and ecological themes, which shows the history of the native peoples of the USA and Canada as well as the ecology of Lake Ontario and Lake Erie.
