About Tobyhanna State Park

Tobyhanna State Park is located on the west side of the Delaware River in the town of Tobyh Hanna, Pennsylvania, USA. The 5,440-hectare park includes the state park system and Lake Toby horticultural area, as well as the lake itself, which covers 170 hectares, along with a small wetland.

G Gouldsboro State Park is nearby, and 140 pitches - in the campsites are open to the public, as well as a number of picnic areas. Tobyhanna is derived from an Indian word that has no meaning, "Tobyhannah," which means "towards the river."

A convenient sanitary deposit at the entrance of the campsite can be used by caravans and campers, and there is a playground for children. A hand-operated water pump and water cooler as well as a picnic area are available. Campers should prepare for cooler night temperatures in the summer months, with a cooler water supply available in the morning and evening hours.

Each of the five pitches can accommodate up to 30 people, a total of 150 campers, and organized groups join the campsites for all campers.

The 170 hectare Tobyhanna Lake has 60 overnight places and boat rental is available. Seasonal pitches require a berth permit, but the ground is open all year round and has a hand-operated water pump. The grounds have been worked by hand, with water pumps operating all year round, as well as an outdoor fireplace, picnic tables, picnic tables and a water fountain.

Concessions include camping, fishing, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, rowing boats and canoes, as well as a picnic area, picnic tables and picnic benches.

Tobyhanna State Park has three picnic areas, one of which is open to the public all year round and two for private use. Three of the areas are wooded and one is an open lawn, so picnickers are allowed all year round.

Tobyhanna State Park features a small playground in the parking lot (# 4) and a picnic pavilion on the north side of the park. The walk to the picnic pavilion can be reserved for $11 a month for an advance booking fee, but is free for those who are served first and without restrictions.

The small playground in the parking lot can be used as a warm-up area for machines, an unheated toilet and a parking and unloading area are available in a nearby parking lot.

Snowmobiles can be used in May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December, February, March, April, May and June. Snowmobiles can be used on designated trails and roads on the north and south sides of the park.
