About Little Pee Dee State Park

The river, named after the Pee Dee Indians who once roamed the area, is accessible from the park and can be used by all parks for fishing or simply relaxing. The peaceful surroundings offer guests of this regional national park access to a variety of wildlife, as well as a range of hiking trails, picnic areas and other amenities.

Besides the river, the park includes a number of trust sites, including Carolina Bay. The wetlands of the Pee Dee River and its tributaries provide habitat for a wide variety of flora and fauna and host a diverse wildlife.

The 835-hectare park includes a campground, nature trails and picnic areas and borders the Pee Dee River and Carolina Bay to the north, south, east, west and east.

Two picnic huts are available for family and other group events. Reservations for picnics can be made at the park office at (888) 662-4357 or at the Little Dee State Park Recreation Center at (1) 866-656-5555. Accommodations can be reserved for $25 to $38 per day, and if accommodations are not reserved, guests can use them free of charge upon their first arrival.

Take Highway 9 in Dillon, exit 193 and turn right onto Highway 57, which is about 11 miles long.

From Highway 9, turn left onto Highway 57 and take Exit 193 to Little Dee State Park Recreation Center at (1) 866 -656 - 5555.
