About Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park

The park was attacked and destroyed by a group of soldiers from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the New York State Police on November 4, 1864.

The land was partly purchased by Benton County and the operation was concentrated in the river park near the town of Eva. Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park is proud to announce the addition of 7 new cottages to the park. Forrest was a member of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the New York State Police, and his operations focused on river parks and towns near Eva, as well as the Mississippi.

One of the cabins will be accessible to disabled people and will have access to the toilets, picnic areas and other amenities of the park. All six cottages, with the exception of one cabin in the river park and one in Eva, will have their own entrance and parking.

There is a free two-boat connection to the park, but a valid Tennessee fishing license is required.

Not uncommon at Kentucky Lake are largemouth, striped and small mouthfish and white perch.
