Utah Lake State Park is located in Utah County, Utah, USA, south of Salt Lake City. The State Park is a great location for hiking, biking, camping, fishing, boating, hunting, hiking and fishing.

Facilities include a protected marina, a boat ramp, a fishing pier and a water park. Without a doubt, one of the most important features of Utah Lake State Park is the Provo River, where it flows into Lake Utah and then into the Utah River.

In the autumn of 1776, Dominguez Escalantes crossed the Spanish Fork Canyon and ascended to seek a large lake in the wide valley. Party members, together with Bernardo Y. Pacheco, told the king that the place had a large lake, the largest of its kind in North America.

There is no exact record of further trips to Utah Lake, but there is evidence of further expeditions by Dominguez Escalantes and other party members to the area.

John C. Fremont visited the lake in 1844 and 1845, and it was important to both men that Smith was one of the first to mention Utah by name in a letter (1827). The thriving market for furs brought a breed of men to the Utah Valley as miners. Utah Lake has hosted Joseph Smith, George Washington, John F. Kennedy, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, William Henry Harrison and John Adams.

Local guides, especially boaters, were interested in building a facility on the lake that would allow boats to start all year round. In 1933, an application for assistance from the Civil Protection Corps was made and after a few years the marina was finished.

When completed, Provo City began building picnic and camping sites along the coast. Head west on Center Street to the park entrance and park on the east side of the lake for a picnic area and campsite.
