About Sinks Canyon State Park
Sinks Canyon State Park has a geological phenomenon in which the Popo Agie River disappears into a large cave or hollow and re-emerges as a trout pool filled with water. Trout live a pleasant life in the cave, fishing for trout and drinking water from the stream and other springs.
Sinks Canyon is home to a variety of animals, birds and plants, and the park offers a wide range of hiking, camping, fishing and other activities for children and adults. The Visitor Centre provides information about the history of the area and the nature and wildlife of the Senks Gorge.
Sinks Canyon State Park is located on the west side of Senks Gorge, south of St. Louis, Missouri.
Visitors can enjoy scenic views of Mt. Washington, the Great Smoky Mountains and the Columbia River.
