Edness K. Wilkins is a quiet day to use the park so you can enjoy the solitude. The huge old cotton forests provide shade for visitors and cast their reflections into the historic North Platte River. Today visitors can use canoes and rafts, but the north plate offers the most beautiful view of Edness and its many lakes and rivers.

In addition, there are a number of hiking trails that offer visitors the opportunity to see some of the most beautiful wildlife in the area. The Edness K. Wilkins State Park Wildlife Management Area has become one of our best visitor facilities.

Fishermen can try their luck fishing on the North Platte, and swimmers can refresh themselves in the park's swimming pool.

Edness K. Wilkins State Park covers more than 1,000 acres of open space in the northern part of the state. Birdwatchers can spend hours searching for birds of prey such as owls, falcons and other migratory birds. According to the park's website, ornithologists have counted more than 40 different bird species during summer excursions.
