Picturesque and located at the foot of the Ouachita mountain, it is a winning combination for outdoor enthusiasts. The State Park is a pleasure for water lovers, with a variety of waterfalls, lakes, rivers and streams, as well as a number of hiking trails.

The Little Missouri flows into four other popular rivers, which offer challenging trout fishing and a variety of other recreational activities. The reason for its popularity with anglers is its proximity to the Missouri River and the Great River, the largest river in the United States.

Facilities of the park include a standard gazebo protected by a wall of trees and a large open-air amphitheater overlooking the Great River. There are many activities in the area that you can use for the perfect camp, such as hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, canoeing and other recreational activities, as well as picnic areas.

There are 103 campsites, including a standard gazebo, a preferred campsite and a screened outdoor amphitheatre. The trail starts on the west bank of the Great River in the Laurel Creek Recreation Area, then switches to the main paths and leads along the east bank of the lake to the Laurel Creek Recreation Area.

Hiking maps are available, and you can use the versatile trail, which is open all year round, in quads.

The Army Corps of Engineers has the resources of the Great River Trail and Laurel Creek Recreation Area, both of which can be accessed from the parking lot at the park's main entrance on the east side of the lake.
