About Big Basin Redwoods State Park

Big Basin is California's oldest state park, founded in 1902 and home to some of the largest redwoods in the United States. The climate ranges from foggy and humid near the sea to sunny and warm along the ridge; the altitude varies from sea level to 2,000 feet; and the climate changes from year to year. That includes being one of only a handful of state parks in California with more than 1,500 acres of sequoia.

Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on a leash and visible at all times and must not be allowed to walk along the paths. Dogs are also allowed in the parking lot at the entrance to Big Basin Redwoods State Park and the main entrance to the park.

The park has slopes - covered slopes and many wildlife birds, including jay, heron and heron and California woodpeckers. A variety of food and beverages, including beer, wine and wine glasses, are available in the Big Basin Redwoods, which is stored in a large warehouse at the park entrance, south of the parking lot.

Closed in December and January, but in the winter months can be found in the parking lot of the Big Basin Redwoods State Park. Closed in November and December, closed in February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October and November.

The cabin is managed by private benefits and there is no registration for tents or cabins, but there are registration tents for the cabin and a parking lot.

The park has 80 km of hiking trails, most of which are flat, asphalted and easy to manage.

Before you start your hike, you should get a map from the park office and have a good look at the map on the Big Basin Redwoods State Park website.

There is the Skyline to Sea Trail, which winds through the Big Basin Redwoods State Park. This path connects the large sequoias at the southern end of the park with the northern end of the Big Basin.

See the many birds, reptiles, insects and mammals that live in and around the large basin and see wonderful photos of this area from years past. You will get to know the redwood in a different way than in any other park in California, especially in this part of California.

The Big Basin Redwoods State Park has several shops, restaurants and other services, including a grocery store, gas station and even a grocery store.
