About White Clay Creek State Park

White Clay Creek was created in an attempt to escape the overrun town of New Castle County, according to a New York Times report.

The lush greenery of the park and the bubbling stream provide an ideal setting for outdoor activities such as picnics, hiking, fishing, camping and hiking. White Clay Creek offers many activities throughout the year, but the nature center offers fun and interesting public programs. Families can use the large picnic area and gazebo for a picnic, followed by meetings and informal barbecues with friends. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, from hiking and camping to fishing and canoeing, kayaking and rafting and other activities.

Hiking is one of the most popular activities in the park, and tobogganing and cross-country skiing are among the many winter activities offered in the parks.

Thirty to seven kilometers of hiking trails lead the explorers to White Clay Creek State Park, a popular destination for hikers and mountain bikers. You can hike the Pomeroy Rail Trail from the footbridge over White Clay Creek, follow the Lifecourse Fitness Trail to the Carpenter Recreation Area, drive up Possum Hill and hike and cycle along the Blue Ridge Trail or ride the North Fork of the Red River Trail.
