About Charlotte Harbor Preserve State Park

CHEC is a non-profit group that maintains a visitor center and offers guided hikes. The highest plateaus of the park are within walking distance, and all parts of the park are passable.

The Old Datsun Trail is located on the west side of the park, south of Burned Ridge Road. The trail is about 1.75 miles long and leads to the North Carolina State Park Trailhead and South Carolina National Wildlife Refuge. This trail is located on a steep, steep hill at the north end of Charlotte Harbor and runs through a series of steep hills and valleys, with some steep climbs and descents. It is about two miles longer and the only hiking trail in Charlotte Bay Park and one of only a handful of hiking trails in State Park.

This trail takes you to the North Carolina State Park Trailhead and South Carolina National Wildlife Refuge. Visitors are welcome to explore other areas of the park, although they are marked as closed. This area is remote and primitive wilderness, and visitors should be aware that picnic pavilions are available for visitors to this site. You should take a compass, map and sufficient water with you on your journey.

Almost all areas of the park are wetlands and regularly flooded, so visitors should be prepared to meet. Heat, muddy paths and mosquitoes are common elements of the natural Florida quake, the common element of a "natural" Florida.

Most of them are in shallow waters surrounded by mangroves, and the best way to reach the reserve is by kayak or canoe, but there are other access options, such as kayak, canoe or boat. The park also manages a large wetland in the south - in the central part of the park. This area offers many opportunities to observe waders, manatees, dolphins and other wildlife, as well as access to a variety of wildlife habitats.

In addition to the wetland, Charlotte Harbor State Park also manages a large freshwater reserve in the north - a small area in the south of the park.

This map is available for download from the map's website and can be downloaded from the Charlotte Harbor State Park website. Charlotte County is located in North Carolina, about 30 miles north of Charlotte, NC. Lee County, about 20 miles south of the park, about 60 miles east of Raleigh.

From land to water, there is something for everyone in real Florida, and the park covers 42,518 hectares. About 7,000 hectares of which are in the highlands, 35,518 hectares are bee and open water areas and about 2,500 hectares are open land.

The park was originally acquired in the 1970s by the Environmentally Endangered Lands Program (EEL) and continued under the Conservation and Recreation Lands (CARL) program. In the late 1970s, the state began acquiring land near the port to buffer water resources, and the park was originally called Charlotte Harbor State Reserve. Later, the park was renamed the Charlotte Harbor State Buffer Preserve and the Department of Recreation and Parks (DRP) took over the management of the reserve. Since 2004, DEP has organized several programs: Save the Rivers Florida, Conservation for Florida's Natural Resources (CNRF), the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and the Florida Department of Environmental Conservation (DECC). The reserve is now called Charlotte Preserve State Park and is currently open to the public.

This program is a partnership between the DEP's Coastal Water Management Office, which shares facilities with the Park in Punta Gorda, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). Preserving and protecting the Port of Charlotte is an important part of our state's conservation efforts in the state of Florida. In addition to habitat conservation, the park also provides boating, fishing and other recreational activities for residents and visitors to the area and helps protect Charlotte Harbor State Buffer Preserve State Park. There are many boating and paddling opportunities in and around the reserve as well as in protected areas such as Fort Myers Bay and Port Charlotte Bay.
