About Kolomoki Mounds State Park
The seven hills in the park were built between 250 and 950 AD by the Swift Creek and Weeden Island Indians. This unusual park is an important archaeological site and recreation area and hosts some of the most spectacular views in North America.
The hills include Koolomoki Mountains State Park, a 2-kilometer hiking trail, and outdoor activities include camping, fishing, hiking, picnicking and boating. The park's museum is partly located in a dug-out mound and offers an unusual setting for viewing artifacts and films.
